What Is Biomass?

Biomass is a renewable, low carbon fuel that is already widely and economically available throughout the UK. Its production and use also brings additional environmental and social benefits. Biomass is a sustainable fuel that can deliver a significant reduction in net carbon emissions when compared with fossil fuels.

What are wood pellets?

Pellets are standardised, small cylindrical rolls comprising 100% natural wood residues. The dried wood residues are ground down and compressed into wood pellets under high pressure using specialised presses. No binding agents or additives are required, and neither are they permitted. Manufacturing wood pellets from dried wood shavings takes about 1% of the energy contained in the fuel, or about 5% when moist sawdust is used. Maintenance and Cleaning

Due to the efficiency and simplicity of design, the system needs little servicing (1-2 times a year) and can be done in as little as 10 minutes. The ash produced by the burning process is an ideal fertilizer suitable for garden and plant growth requirements.
