In order to optimize energy efficiency it is important to have any heating source professionally, sized, designed and installed. Building Regulations specify that all new boilers and systems are to be energy efficient and installed correctly.

Generally the majority of new energy efficient condensing  boilers have a service life of 15 years. However it is fair to say that boilers over 10 years old will be up less than 75% energy efficient. The current boiler scrappage scheme is worth £400 to the householder.
